iPhone hack? How about an AT&T and T-Mobile hack.
After the announcement the other day about how several security experts found a hole in the iPhone’s SMS (text messaging) application, the blogosphere lit up with a ridiculous amount of hate against Apple. The flaw was demonstrated at the Black Hat security conference, and was shown using an iPhone.
The problem is that so many people are ready to deem Apple lazy and incompetent for not fixing this when they were informed of the flaw nearly a month ago. The reason that is a problem is that many phones using the GSM network (AT&T and T-Mobile) are affected by this flaw. Not just the iPhone. Read about it here on Technologizer.
So, before we all continue to mount evidence against Apple’s tyrannical practices, let’s make sure we have all the facts first.
